Description

A classic British dish, this is a quick and satisfying tea-time or late-night snack. Mushrooms-on-toast needs a few readily available ingredients and the most basic cooking skills to create a delicious meal in minutes.


Ingredients

  • 500 gms MUSHROOs, thickly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • ½ an onion, finely sliced
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder or crushed garlic
  • ¼ tsp thyme and parsley powder
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • 2 slices of toast (white or brown)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil/butter in a pan and sauté the onions until soft.
  2. Then add the garlic, thyme, and parsley and continue stirring.
  3. Mix in the mushrooms and keep sautéing until they are brown and release moisture.
  4. Add the lemon juice to the mushroom mixture. Also, place the bread in the toaster so it’s ready to serve.
  5. Spread some of the butter or olive oil on your toast, add the sauteed mushrooms, and sprinkle with some more parsley if required.
  6. Your easy Mushroom-on-toast is ready and should be served immediately so it can be savored in all its tangy deliciousness.
