Description

These marinated Garlic & Herb Mushrooms are great to have handy and add to your meals. You can use them as a side to BBQ dishes, use as burger toppings, or even add to an omelet.

 

They take hardly any time to prepare, and you can keep them in the fridge and use them for various dishes.


Ingredients

500 GMS MUSHROOS (sliced)

1/3 CUP OLIVE OIL (OR OTHER COOKING OIL)

3 CLOVES GARLIC (minced)

1 SMALL ONION (diced)

1/3 CUP VINEGAR (Apple Cider Vinegar is also an option)

1/3 CUP WATER

1 TSP SALT

½ CUP SUGAR (or honey)

2 TSP ROSEMARY LEAVES (crushed)

1 TBSP FRESH THYME

 

2 TSP CHILI FLAKES (depending on taste)


Instructions

·        Heat some of the oil and saute the mushrooms until they brown, stirring them occasionally. Let it stand for about 5 minutes

·        Combine the marinade: vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, rosemary, thyme and chili flakes.

·        Pour over the warm mushrooms and mix properly.

·        Let the mixture cool and then marinate in the kitchen or the fridge.

·        Marinate overnight in the refrigerator to enjoy the best flavor.

 

This easy recipe is great for any meal; just keep it refrigerated and use it as needed. You can add to your brunch eggs or your salad or sandwich.
